How do i overclock my computer?

how do i overclock my computer by changing the cpu multiplier?

i have a celeron (R) processor

CPU speed: 1.40ghz/100mhz

cahe ram 256kb

installed ram 384mb

when i get to the option to change the cpu multiplier in the bios menue i get a couple options--

4x

10.5x

3x/8.5x

5x/12x

2.5x/9.5x

4.5x/11.5x

3.5x.9x

5.5x/13x

6x/14x

8x

7x/16x

11x

6.5x/15x

10x

7.5x

[default]

im not sure what multiplier default is. i would like to know what multiplier would be the safest yet most efficient cpu multiplier for overclocking my cpu. please explain ur choice so i understand what your talking about..

formula for processor speed:

(Front side bus) x (Multiplier) = (processor speed)

(FSB(100mhz)) x (Mult.(?)) = 1.40ghz/100mhz

i need to solve for the mult.(?). so i can choose a faster multiplier therefore overclocking my cpu. (?) will = one of the cpu multipliers given above. im not sure wich one.. help please.

also show how you figured out your answer.. thank you very much. How do i overclock my computer?i could help you but im not gonna only because you didnt list your cooling options. overclocking is the fastest way to fry your cpu in seconds. anytime you go over cpu speed you need to upgrade cooling with fans and purifiers. dont think you knew that so i am saving your pcHow do i overclock my computer?http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?a
