Packard Bell IMEDIA MC 1808?

I have a PB Imedia MC 1808 system which I have had a while but lately I been having problems. The CPU fan keeps on coming on and making a lot of noise and also the colours on my screen seems to dispear when I turn it on (I need to trun it on and off a few times to get it working).

I would like to know if anyone else had a problem like this or is there a good website that shows you how to change the CPU fan and how to fit a extra one?

Thank youPackard Bell IMEDIA MC 1808?contact me on my email address on the 360 details, i will send you a **free** %26quot;How to%26quot; guide on your cooling fan and pc problem, but I need an email address to send it to.

ChrisPackard Bell IMEDIA MC 1808?Do you really mean the CPU fan (i.e. the fan on top of the chip) or the main fan at the back of the PC?

Assuming it is the main fan, I would say the fan is dirty or clogged and just needs cleaning (vacuum or brush the fan outlet).

As to the loss of colour it sounds like the cable is loose or there's a loose contact on the graphics card. Check and tighten the plugs on the monitor and on the graphics port.Packard Bell IMEDIA MC 1808?You can't fit an extra CPU fan as there is only space to fit one.

I would unscrew the CPU fan and give it a good clean, using a small paintbrush. Also clean out the heat sink below it as a lot of fluff gets trapped in there.Packard Bell IMEDIA MC 1808?press f1 or f2 on start up to get the bios to see if you have the same problems. in there if the colours are still off it could be a graphics card fault and if its still having power issues it will need a repair.
