Overclocking processor question?

there's this athlon 64x2 2.7ghz from newegg.ca and it says on the site that it's a black edition and its model is ADO5200DOBOX...i've read that those are two signs that a cpu has g2 stepping..i'm not even gonna pretend i know tons about this g2 stepping, all i know is that it's supposed to make overclocking easier.....btw, on the site,it doesn't actually say the cpu has g2 stepping but i think it has it because of the two hints i mentioned.....i just wanna know how does g2 stepping make overclocking easier? does it mean that when i want to oc the cpu from 2.7 to 3ghz i don't need to change the fsb and everything else, but just change the cpu multiplier????? here's the cpu link http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103210Overclocking processor question?no the stepping doesnt make overclocking easier mate it makes the cpu more likely to hold a higher stable clock at a lower voltage and lower temperature than one of a differant stepping , its just as hard to overclock as any cpu.

yuo will hit 3 gig easily and yes i beleive that the black edition has an %26quot;unlocked%26quot; multiplyer meaning you can actually UP the multiplyer instead of messing with the fsb

any overclock should be properly tested using some decent benchmarking tools to make sure its properly stable and runningat a decent temp

DO PLENTY OF RESEARCH , overclocking is a fantastic way of getting your whole PC running faster , i have a Q6600 running at 3.4gig , thats an 800mhz oc , so i would always say %26quot;have a go%26quot;

there are plenty of guides out there read as many as you can , learn how to do it properly and you'll soon be an expert :0)
