1st time ?. My icon image on yahoo will not change even when shutting off cpu. How do I change images?

deleted all images and started over maybe this is the problem. How would I get the old original images back? Then I had a solid black sqare for my icon. I can choose new picture from my photos and it shows and click ok. I t just doesn't change to new photo and the new photo is not in the choices anymore. I know a medium amount about cpu but I've tried everything to get this to work even unistalled and reinstalled the yahoo messenger. I did get the old picture back but want to place new photos as available. Please assist if you know what the problem is thank you!1st time ?. How do I change images?Make for sure the image is still stored on your pic (i.e. in your pictures) because if the image is not there, then you have no where to get the pic from when you put it on as your icon image. I know it takes a little whilte for the pic to show up when you change the images, and sometimes it takes a couple of tries for it to show up. To change your image, go into messenger, click my display image, share my picture, click select, click on the picture (a light blue box should surround the pic), then click ok. Then the previous menu with my display image along with your image you picked should be there, click ok, which closes the option and your back with messenger. Hope this helps.1st time ?.
