I tried to download a movie from Limewire, but it was an AVI file and my cpu wouldn't play it. Why is that? AVI files (which end with an .avi extension) require a special player that may be included with your Web browser or may require downloading.
There are converters to change the avi file to DVD, VCD, MPGE and other formats but I do not think you want to get into that. I would recommend instead to download a free avi player like the ones in this link http://www.brothersoft.com/downloads/fre
to watch your movie.
If you have Nero or Quicktime it is very likely that you can open the file with them.
