my old dvd drive just suddenly broke so i bought a new one... after changing the old with the new the cpu wont detect it... i got tired of fixing it so i left it... then after a while my cpu is went crazy... it would restart instantly... or when you turn it on the monitor wont show anything so i have to restart it again... plz.... need help badly...How do i change/fix my dvd drive??? i bought a new dvd drive but it still wont work??? need help fast...?if its an IDE drive... and its on a cable of its own make sure the jumper in the back is set to 'master' if its on a cable with another disc drive or a harddrive make sure to set the jumper to 'slave'.... here is a generic image to help you

the #2 is the jumper settings, there should be inscriptions on the back or arrows pointing to a label ontop of the drive to tell you which 2 pins are to what you move the little plastic piece to change 'jumpers'... if the ram is all right then remove it and clean with dry clothe. its a ram problem.
