It sounds to me that you are not.
Is your computer located in a work situation where there are many computer terminals and only a certain amount of available connections?
It is possible that the administrator has set out a prudent rule that any terminal which is on standby for a few minutes will be cut off from the internet and/or local area network..
At home where you are the only user and you are paying for 24-7 connection, you can stay on line as long as you wish. Again, are you the only user? administrator?
If the answer is yes twice, just go to properties on your main screen, make sure you have firewall, and all antivirus software and activate a screensaver that will protect your monitor . Leave the computer on .Many people do.
