I get a 100% CPU usage only when I play Everquest2 and The Sims2. And as soon as it hits the 100% mark, my game freezes and terminates. I have already updated my RAM from 512 to 1.512. I have cleaned my registry, defraged, disk cleanup. I shut down all the startup processes that I don't use and don't need. What else can I do to make the 100% go down? I have 2.20 GHz and a ATI Radeon 9550/X1050 Series. You may also want to upgrade your drivers. I don't fancy ATI... they're cheaper and you kind of get what you pay for is a statement i've always believed. I would go with Nvidia next time around. Nvidia 9800GTX so far in my book has a great rating.
I built an Intel/EVGA/Nvidia gaming computer for a customer and it works GREAT! It runs very smooth with any game.. FEAR doesn't lag one bit! 300$ graphics card. I have a friend with an 8800GT and it lags a little with Fear. This... not a problem. With the motherboard... it still has 2 PCI-E slots to expand with 2 More graphics cards or 1 More graphics card and an Ageia PhysX Physics Accelerator card. So it's a 2-way SLI with an Ageia PhysX card. That will run intensively smooth. Probably won't see lag for 5-10 years unless you manage to let your computer to get screwed up!

This CPU actually gets COLDER the harder the system runs as far as I've seen. Runs average 66C and dropped down to 50C on me while playing a game. Great system.How do I change my CPU usage?It sounds like your computer gets unstable under high load.. It could be the result of overheating or faulty memory. You need some kind of stress test with temperature monitoring to find out what's wrong. I personally like S%26amp;M test, the others well-known ones are prime95 and memtest
