CPU fan getting noisy on startup?

Has anyone ever changed their cpu fan?. I know that they are dirt cheap but i was wondering how they attach to the cpu, are they stuck on or clipped on, it,s worth a couple of quid to avoid a catastrophe!CPU fan getting noisy on startup?I give mine a good hoover out every so often. it tends to be because they're getting dusty they get louder. It's scary how much dust they attract! They're screwed on btw.CPU fan getting noisy on startup? It does sound like it might be knackered.

The good news is, they are easy to replace... just make sure you choose the right size for your CPU.CPU fan getting noisy on startup?if you need one get one. if your cpu over heats your computer is gone. so best to make sure and replace it. they clip into the board and are replaceable. i would advise to get a liquid cool fan although it needs to be compatible with the mother board. remember to check the power voltage, unit, size and shape to see if it fits and compatibility.

although my macbook over heats but its natural for mac but for windows it is a danger since those comuputers are so fragileCPU fan getting noisy on startup? Are you sure it needs replacing it may just be compensating for a blocked vent try blowing vents with some tinned air.CPU fan getting noisy on startup?I would replace your CPU cooler with a good quality replacement. They are clipped on from mounting holes surrounding the CPU. Most come with a thermal pad that assists with heat transfer to the cooler, if they don't you MUST buy a small tube of heat thermal paste

You also have to clean off the old heat compound with isopropyl alcohol or spirit

Try to avoid buying coolers that require access to the underside of the motherboard to fix the mounting plates otherwise you may have to dismantle the whole kit

Ensure you get the correct cooler for your CPU they can be different.

CPU fan getting noisy on startup?Hi , The fan is usually screwed to the heatsink (cooler) usually 4 screws - make sure you get the right size ;-) all the ones I've ever seen are 12V units and are connected with a flying lead with connector to the mother board .

DO change it !! There is a video I saw of CPUs smoking when the heatsink is removed .... not good!
